London, U.K.
Terence “Terry” Shaun Marsh was admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales over twenty years ago. He specializes in intellectual property and contractual issues in the entertainment industry for both litigation and transactional matters.
Terry received his training at Eversheds, then expanded to the international stage with Garret & Co (of Arthur Andersen) and subsequently Dib Lupton Alsop (now known as DLA Piper), Sheridans, and Hamlins Solicitors where his focus was on music and film, and acted on behalf of artists and recording/film production companies alike. After years of working internationally (in various European countries and in the USA) on a project by project basis, Terry founded Marsh Law in 2007. After pairing up with the U.S. lawyer, Heather Rafter, Marsh Law became RafterMarsh UK.
Since the firm’s beginning, Terry has worked with a variety of small to medium sized companies including startups in both tech and media. He continues to represent artists, musicians, producers and composers in intellectual property and commercial matters.
Terry graduated from the University of Newcastle (LLB) and the School of Law in York. During his time at the University of Newcastle he was the President of the Newcastle Students Law Society for two years and during the first year of his training contract he was President of the Leeds Law Students Society. He also came third in the national “Solicitor/Client Interviewing Competition” run throughout the UK in 1991.
RafterMarsh UK has recently been awarded the INTL Corporate Global Award for “IP Licensing Law Firm of the Year in England.”
Out of the office: Terry enjoys travelling, has young two children and plays lead guitar in a rock covers band. In his own words “there is little time for anything else.”
